Sesame Salt

I discovered sesame salt in a Zen macrobiotics book by George Ohsawa. Try this (1 part salt to 5 parts sesame) formula that claims health benefits. Sesame salt is the perfect garnish and taste enhancer to brown rice, eggs, meat, or vegetables.

1 1/4 cups sesame seeds
1/4 cup sea salt

Place sesame seeds and sea salt in a heavy skillet on the top of the stove. Set stove to medium and cook stirring frequently until the sesame seeds are golden brown. Cool. Pour into a food processor and pulse a few times. Store in a food storage container.
